Trawler Punches on the IntraCoastal Waterway

Underway to St Mary's Maryland We left today for a one week trip up the Chesapeake Bay to the Potomac. Every July for a number of years we have attended a Friday night open air concert followed by a Saturday Crab Cake supper. The event is held in historic St Mary's City, Maryland which is about 20 miles up river from the mouth of the Potomac. As usual we played with the weather; the forecast was for more wind tonight and tomorrow so we made the entire 58 nautical mile run to St Mary's in one day. We are anchored a few miles below and it is quiet and we are the only boat to be seen. Except for a little lumpy water at the mouth of the river we had a good ride and averaged 7.5 knots for the days trip.
