Three weeks and counting. We are now just 21 days from turning back north. The weather the last few days gas be perfect!!! Light winds, low 80's temperatures, plenty of sun. Sandra has been very busy at the Turtle Hospital as some of the full-time staff left. My manager assigned me extra hours at Boaters World while he worked the Miami Boat Show.
I have fixed a few things on the boat. We had a leak in the hot water line. Of course it was located in a tiny 12 inch square space under some other pipes. Did I also add that the fittings are hard to find and had to be Internet-ordered? Yesterday I replaced the raw water impeller on the main engine. The old one looked fine after 165 hours of running time but I decided to be safe.
We are undecided if to come back via the West Coast of Florida and the Okeechobee Waterway. Reports indicate there was a lot of damage from the storms last year and the lake is very muddy. The rim route that provides some protection across the lake in bad weather is closed due to sunken debris. We will probably wait until near our departure to decide how to go.
