Tell me its not over!!!! It was windy last night with NW winds 10-15 mph and the place we anchored had no protection from that direction. After pulling up anchor we decided to make the last day's run on the "outside" using the Hawk Channel between the reef and the Keys. This was easy to do as we were anchored about 2 miles from a cross over point at "Channel Five" between the ocean and Florida Bay. With a north wind the chop on the ocean side was the same as in Florida Bay. Before going to our slip I filled the fuel tanks, fuel here is $2.75 /gal, I took 73 gal, so since Ft Pierce when I last fueled we used 2.26 gph or 3.14 mpg. The boat has an on-board filtering system and I will circulate and filter all 320 gallons of fuels 2 or 3 times. This avoids problems with the fuel sitting. I also drained the oil from the main engine today while it was still warm. That way the boat will sit with clean oil in the engine.
The afternoon was spend doing laundry, washing the boat, connecting the cable TV and getting everything settled. We went to the local Tiki Restaurant tonight and enjoyed the sunset and local entertainment.
Tomorrow we will get the bicycles off the boat and settle into our routine for the next 3 1/2 months or so. This will be our last log update until we beging the return trip in mid-March

Today's stats: Location Burdines Marina, Marathon, Fl, ICW MM 1195, running time 3.5 hrs, average speed 9.16 mph ( 7.97 knots )

Trip Statistics: Total miles 1276, Engine Hours - 164.68, average speed - 7.75 mph, fuel used - 448 gallons, 2.72 gph average.
